The opening track of our 2nd album. A hopeful nod to our softer past - before we let out the beasts of Viola post-2005.

The thumping initialization to the new Viola in 2005. Heavily influenced by the MPC-4000, LCD Soundsystem and Mew.

The sheep song! Anybody who's seen us live in the latter part of the 00's knows how it feels, when sheep cry.
Thumping electro-rock dedicated to all the people shying in the corner of the room of a hot party.

One of our most misunderstood titles! No gloominess here, just starry-eyed optimism. It's weird how much context can change words: "Life's too long" is very different from "Life's too long, to bear alone"

An enigmatic anti-ode to boredom and tedious repetition in life.
One of our live-show favorites. In 2005 we felt this track best embodies the kind of music we want to do and we still kind of do.

A weird song about a tamarin monkey. Has something to do with tambourines and such. Beach vibes. Don't ask.

The mandatory mid-record weepie. Rhodes with glitchy electronics. Good times.

We kinda got a bit political on Anything Can Stop Us. This track, Tedium Rock and Invisible Revolution all present far more direct statements about how people live their lives than any of our other material. Or maybe they're just observations.
Anyway, musically one of our most aggressive tracks. Frantic tempo, glitchy / distorted electronics... Weird.

Our first stab at more hiphop-esque beats. More or less just trying to copy Black Audio. Glad we got them to remix this track for Melancholydisco 2.
Also featured: a speech synthesizer that sounds exactly like J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.

A song about cats. A song about revolutions. A song about hearts over bank accounts.
What more could you ask for?

A slightly surrealistic track where we actually imagined each vocal line as an animal or a muppet of some sort and tried to act them out while singing. The lead line is more or less based around Gonzo from Muppet Show, but there are frogs, pigs, chicken and all sorts of silly things in the backing vocals.

A moronic eurodance track with surprisingly deep lyrics about turning a blind eye on all the terrible injustices in the world.
Not listed on the track listing in the back cover of the album.
